UNIX and Linux have always been 'tool oriented'. I suspect that its the MS_windows influence that causes people to look for a 'product' (and a GUI product at that) when a few lines of shell, perl, or perhaps python or even ruby, would suffice. Personally, I would use pdsh to push changes out to a set of servers if I had passwordless access: http://sourceforge.net/projects/pdsh/ However, the original poster asked for 'LDAP like' change management - I rather thought she might like to look at Puppet.
