SuSE has a properly compiled plugger plug in available on their web site. The version that was release on the CD's was compiled with degug enabled, this is why you are seeing the file /tmp/ndebug. THe best fix is to get a properly compiled version of plugger (it is a pretty neat application nice to have around). A cheesey teporary workaround is as several have mentioned, to change the permissions on /tmp/ndebug or remove the pluggin.
Well, you gave me enough hope that I d'led plugger.rpm from Suse (25K file), applied it and now I am back to Bus error.
I changed permissions on /tmp/ndebug to 660 (it did get written, even with the new plugger).
Then something must have gone wrong :) /tmp/ndebug should never be generated nor present at all (rm /tmp/ndebug).
Maybe you could give me the URL for the correctly compiled plugger; I may have gotten the one that they were putting on the CD. Seems like it had an April, 2000 date stamp. This would indicate you had downloaded the wrong one.
Give this one a try: ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse_update/6.4/xap1/ Ralf
