Hi,
I also have the signature failure message when I try to use YOU to first update YaST.
Are you YOU in a GUI logged in as root? If so: Do not use a GUI as root - X is a security nightmare! Log in a standard user, and run YOU by entering the root password when prompted, or (MUCH BETTER) get a console (press alt-F1) and login as root there, then run yast in text 'mode' Dylan
I have checked the following directories:-
/var/lib/YaST2/you/i386/update/8.1/patches
/var/lib/YaST2/you/i386/update/8.1/rpm/i586 where there are 4 yast2 rpm packages that appear to be recent (from my latest attempt to use YOU with the same signature failure message)
yast2-core-2.6.47-9.i586.patch.rpm yast2-packagemanager-2.6.36-2.i586.patch.rpm yast2-packagemanager-devel-2.6.36-2.i586.patch.rpm yast2-packager-2.6.63-3.i586.patch.rpm
How can I correctly (safely) install these ? i.e. How can this be done with YaST2 ? or must I use rpm -Uhv filename.rpm --???????? (is this the correct command for a patch ?)
Are they really the downloaded updates ?
If these RPMs can be correctly installed then I hope YaST will work. In 8.0 there was an option to ignore the signature error message. I used it, YaST2 was updated and thereafter YaST2 worked fine without a signature propblem.
regards,
John
