I'm pretty sure I have no machines with suspend needed or installed. All are multiboot, with at most one swap partition per storage device. No *ply* installed here.
Well, that's different: suspend is installed by default, even on Leap. Your systems, being test systems, avoid it.
Huh? On a fresh install of Leap 42.1 from DVD, there is no package "suspend" at all, and even a search on software.opensuse.org: http://software.opensuse.org/search?q=suspend&baseproject=all returns no match for Leap 42.1 or SLE-12. a call: zypper rm \ libply2-0.9.0-8.1.x86_64 libply-boot-client2-0.9.0-8.1.x86_64 \ libply-splash-graphics2-0.9.0-8.1.x86_64 libply-splash-core2-0.9.0-8.1.x86_64 just removes these packages and nothing more, good.
