I ordered the Hancom package Thursday; waiting for it to arrive. Let me know what you find. After all our work getting things working on my system my Nikon CoolScan II has decided to start putting a colored band in every scan. Now I have to find a new scanner to replace it and i haven't found any "reasonable" options yet. Any good ideas or sources for a high quality internal SCSI based scanner.
Hi Prof, Well, I installed the Hancom evaluation, as tempted..... First thing, I like the modularity through HancomShell2, which you can sit on your desktop as a fast launcher to the various components of the suite. Colourful too !! Secondly, I installed the suite in /opt instead of the default of /usr/local.... Might be missing one or two links to maybe fonts and other sets, so when I tried out the Evision , which is ala dia, and called on the stencil set, it locked up. Happily, I could even choose to ignore it and carry on with another component of the suite , or kill the offending application without the whole suite falling. GREAT !! Lastly, anyone else noticed the rendering of word documents with diagram/photo inserts ? My trial didn't come close to mark of SO-5.2. StarOffice just outdid Hansom here. Oh, Dave, About our SCSI chain !! I haven't looked at any other scanner for ages. I'll be all ears for you. Cheers !! -- Kemdi IN_SuSE_d Since 5.2 123792 of counter.li.org ICQ:112290572
