Filip, Yes, I saw a few problems with 2.4 and I found out today that the VIA IDE driver had some issues that 2.4.1 pre10 (which was released today) fixed. I think this would part of the issues of lock up that I saw came from. It may have been some other braindead thing I did, so give it a try if you wish. You can install both kernels .. 7.1 has a cool boot feature so you can choose between them. I still don't know how support will deal with some of the calls...haven't talk to anyone since Friday really. BTW...3D acceleration w/ my Viper 770 worked out of the gate with 2.4 and it works really GREAT w/ 2.2.18...my usb visor synch works well..and I have been reading up on netfilter for sometime...I am not a guru, but I guess I get the job done. You all will enjoy this release I believe. I was impressed from a " I'm geek " stand point...not an employee stand point :) Regards, * filip (vhf@skynet.be) [010128 15:09]: =>Hi Ben, => =>Well, that's very honest. I 'm deducting from your writings that there are =>still some problems with 2.4.0 and that it is still in transition mode ( I =>suppose netfilter and usb and agp ). =>As for me I'll forget that support and I hope that SuSE 7.1 will give then =>step by step good support in converting 2.2.18 into 2.4.0. -- Ben Rosenberg mailto:brosenb@suse.com --------------------------------------- SuSE Inc. 580 Second St Suite 210 Oakland CA 94607 U.S.A Tel: 1-510-628-3380 EXT:5086 Fax: 1-510-628-3381 --------------------------------------- "There are no problems, only solutions."
