Since my last kde 3.3 update, clicking through a weblink into an image uses (according to View - View mode) gwenview rather than the embedded viewer. Gwenview doesn't work, pictures never appear. I was happy with the embedded viewer anyway. The view menu allows you to change back to the embedded viewer for that instance, but the next image you click on opens gwenview again.
Anyone know how to set the embedded viewer as default like it used to be? Anyone know why/how gwenview is broken, and why anyone thinks it ought to default to that.
I had a similar problem and I just figured out a solution to this. In Konqueror, go to Settings->Configure Konqueror. Go to File associations. Click on image in the right part where all mime data-types are shown in a hierarchy. For each of the mime-type under image (such as gif, jpeg, png etc.) Click on it and then Click on Embedding. Make sure that the Embedded viewer is on top of gwenview viewer. For some reason, I had gwenview viewer on top and that was causing all this problems. After I moved the embedded viewer on top and saved this settings - all the problems disappeared. Osho
