Perhaps I've been a dunce, corrections, suggestions sheerfully accepted. I have installed Suse 8.1 via ftp using yast2. The choices for configuration include... (x) Default system ( ) Minimum graphical system (without KDE) ( ) Minimum system Once installed, yast2 presents the same choices. Question is how can I update the system for full development and kernel devlopment (aside from selecting packages one by one and rpm'ing them). Default is definitely not a development system. Seems like a silly question, never had to do anything special to get a development environment in linux before. Where did I go wrong? Michael
