On Leap 15.5, using 102.11.0esr, on opening any new page, I get a page (see photo on link) saying to restart firefox to apply update. This whould be impossible, updates happened through YaST only.
Bug?
Have I been hacked?
Firefox can update itself. No need for Yast.
No, it can't in openSUSE, for over 20 years. It is intentionally disabled. Run yast2 online_update and check if "Automatic Online Update" is enabled. If so, probably a new version of firefox was pulled in in background by that automatic update
Where would that be? It wasn't enabled before upgrading to 15.5. If I try to configure online update, it asks to install "yast2-online-update.configuration", so it is not installed. But "zypper ps" does show in-use deleted files, included firefox. The journal shows there were updates days ago, on the 15th, and Firefox was indeed updated then. So, maybe I forgot to reboot or hibernated instead, and then forgot. Hugh :-( Well, mystery half solved. Thanks. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 15.4 x86_64 at Telcontar)
