does the same, even better.
'init' these days is no more than a symlink to systemd. Since init is deprecated, I'd rather use the systemct equivalents. Look:
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 26 28 okt 15:11 /sbin/init -> ../usr/lib/systemd/ systemd
That's not the problem. None of those will work if /etc/sysconfig/displaymanager is ignored. It has to be done with update-alternatives, and this is not documented in the sysconfig file.
