Why - do you suppose - MPlayer would try to handle a .rpm file?
Most likely because .rpm is also an extension registered by Real Player, and you have mplayer set up to handle all multimedia files
The web site probably doesn't send a mime type, so firefox is forced to rely on the filename extension to decide what to do
Ahh, that makes sense. Yes, I do have MPlayer setup to run Real Media files. The average mirror site must be setup to send a mime type.
