Hello, I have installed opensuse 10.1 on an IBM T21 Thinkpad. Machine specs: Pentium 3 750 Mhz, 256 Mb RAM, Belkin PCMCIA Wireless Ethernet Adapter (based on the rt2500 chip set) basic thinkpad. Other than this problem, I am happy with the performance on this laptop, the problem however I cannot figure out. Any where from 7 to 10 times in a typical day this occurs, the hard driver activity light lights up because of disc activity and the system becomes unusable from 2 to about 5 minutes. I have no idea where to start to solve this problem, from another computer I logged into the laptop through webmin and twice I have looked at running processes during these freeze ups and see the X server taking about 80 percent of the cpu. Other than that , I see all other processes running below 1 percent of the cpu. Any assistance would be appreciated.
