Subject: Netscape 6: really slow
Dear all,
this weekend I installed Netscape 6 on my SuSE 6.4 and noticed that:
a) the mail folder files are no longer located under $HOME/nsmail.
They are somewhere on $HOME/.mozilla/bla-bla-bla instead
b) although I started only *one* NS process, a 'top' shows more than
2 'mozilla-bin' processes taking the same CPU time and resources
c) all NS Java applications launched (still offline) are far too
S...L...O...W. I have an AMD K6-II @ 400 MHz and other Java apps run
smoothly
d) IMHO, the new look really sucks! It's too much Windoze-oriented.
I changed to the classic (neutral) theme...
Does anyone know what's involved on the speed issue? how can I 'accelerate'
the NS 6 ?? Otherwise, I'll just delete it to have some free space :-)
Thanks,
Martin
