Ok, unless I am completely mistaken (not the first nor the last time, to be sure), VNC is NOT what you are looking for. VNC, other than on Windows, doesn't easily (if at all) let you remote control someone's desktop. On M$, it has to since there aren't really provisions for multiple displays on Win32 like there is in *nix. But on a *nix machine, it will open the first _available_ display or one that you specify. But trying to get it open an existing display would be the same as running X on tty7, and (at least in linux) doing a Cntrl-Alt-F2 to get to tty2 console, and typing startx. It just doesn't work. You have to do startx -- :1 , so you are opening tty8, or the next available display. I think what you are looking for is something like either x2x (which is included on the SuSE boxed set CD's) or XmX (X protocol multiplexor). These programs are designed to allow clients to either watch an X display from another computer, or to actually interact w/ it. But AFAIK, in both cases, they do allow the users to 'share' one desktop. Monte __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Talk to your friends online with Yahoo!
