That's the last opensuse kernel it would compile against apparently. Leap 15 has kernel 4.12. (Broken and EOL).
They also build fine against: Linux valkyrie 4.16.3-1-ARCH so it isn't a kernel or virtualbox package thing. The only packaging hiccup was with 5.1.28 which last built against 4.14?, but other than that I have had no problems building on opensuse or Arch. (I didn't want to move to 5.2.0, but the Arch kernel forced me to take the plunge on that box) -- David C.
