Anyone runnig SuSE on VALINUX hardware?

I just inherited a large network with several VA-Linux boxes running Red Hat 6.2. <SYMPATHY> Smile </SYMPATHY> New to VA-Linux boxes and not having one that I can scratch and play with yet, has anyone put SuSE 7 on one of these beasts? The model is a Full On 2230. You would think the hardware would not matter but a semi-technical buddy told me that VA-Linux has some kind of firmware, much like Sun and other high-end servers. Any insight is greatly appreciated, CC
