I have sound working correctly, so at least it's possible. My speculation is that you have some mixture of OSS and Alsa sound modules; you should go with one or the other. Also check your kernel modules in /lib/modules; there may be some extras there that are the cause of the difficulty (it's happened to me). I'm using Alsa. There are docs on it in /usr/share/docs/packages. Paul
