Hi, I've recently replaced SCSI CD-ROM/CD-RW drives with IDE ones, and so far everything has been fine. SUSE 8.1 on booting offered me to configure the new drives, and I do have read access to both the CD-ROM and the CD-RW drive. Problem is, when running k3b setup, it seems like the CD-RW drive is not recognised as such. I've been told that I'd need to enable scsi emulation, and after looking at some entries in SUSE support database, here's what I've done: a) Added /sbin/modprobe ide-scsi to /etc/init.d/boot.local (as advised by a support entry) b) Added hda=ide-scsi and hdb=ide-scsi to grub.conf via YAST2. Rebooted, and still no progress. In k3b-setup, I am being presented with the CD-ROM and the CD-RW as Readers only.? Any idea what I migth be doing wrong ? Thanks Werner PS I've upgraded to KDE 3.1.3 and k3b 0.8.1 as well, and everything is running on SUSE 8.1
