Try rpm -U --test kernel-source-2.4.7.SuSE-19.i386.rpm instead. Jonathan Paul Cowherd Linux and Java Administrator Genscape, Inc. However, Oracle9i R2 requires kernel 2.4.7 and glibc 2.2.2. On my SuSE 7.1 system (dual boot WinME) I have kernel 2.4.0 and glibc 2.2-7. I have now downloaded kernel-source-2.4.7.SuSE-19.i386.rpm (via WinME, I have a winmodem). When I do the following, rpm -i --nodeps --test kernel-source-2.4.7.SuSE-19.i386.rpm I get, file /usr/src/linux from install of kernel-source-2.4.7.SuSE-19 ... conflicts with file from package linclude-2.4.0.SuSE-6 file /usr/src/linux from install of kernel-source-2.4.7.SuSE-19 ... conflicts with file from package lx_sus24-2.4.0.SuSE-6 What do I do about these conflicts? 1. Do I need to run rpm with extra args ie: --force? 2. Download new packages for linclude/lx_sus24. If so, how do I identify appropriate versions? If more info. is required to find a solution I will provide as much as I possibly can. TIA MH
