Hey hello,
I got the same problem with a TECRA 8000 (thats a good computer!) and I was reviewing old messages to see any relating to tecra 8000... So I am wondering have you reached to get sound with your laptop un SuSE 7.1. Hope so! Please send me some help.
Hi Pep, this must be a damn old msg as I quit writing on SLD as for the reason that if you do not obey the list-"gods" you.... nevermind. What exactly do you need? I shall add my little log to let you see the simple steps which I take and cc this to the list for everyone's help. Btw. Is that your private notebook? So here: modify the /etc/modules.conf file: Delete any references to sb Add the next two lines to the bottom of the file: (using the proper values from your pc!) options opl3sa2 dma=1 dma2=0 io=0x538 mpu_io=0x330 mss_io=0x530 irq=5 options opl3 io=0x388 For the benefit of those who are trying to get sound to work on their toshiba 490xcdt/cdt's, here's the line someone added to the modules configuration (put this line in a file called options in /etc/modutils): options -k opl3sa2 io=0x538 mss_io=0x530 irq=5 dma=1 dma2=0 ymode=2 loopback=0 mpu_io=0x330 (all on one line) Hope I could help. If you run KDE, remember that the default volume is set to idiotically ZERO, which results in that you hear nothing until you run the kmixer and set it up. I mention this because this has gone several times through the lists and newsgroups that I read and also comes up again and again. I wonder why Suse does these idiotic things...
