Just installed 12.2 64 bit on HP probook 6455b. Is there a way to get the wireless working? Should it work with 12.2? Here is the wireless card: Broadcom 802.11a/b/g/n 300M Half Height Mini-PCI-e Laptop Wireless Card
Here is the actual number on the card: bcm943224hms

Supposedly that chip is the same as a BCM4322 but there are a few varieties of that some of which are troublesome. You really need to know the PCI-ID (lspci as root)/ See this page: http://linuxwireless.org/en/users/Drivers/b43#Supported_chip_types
Although the id is not shown with lspci, it does give this: 03:00.3 FireWire (IEEE 1394): Ricoh Co Ltd R5C832 PCIe IEEE 1394 Controller (rev 01) 07:00.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM43224 802.11a/b/g/n (rev 01)
And according to the page you linked to: 14e4:0576 not tested BCM43224 ? ? wl/brcm80211
an alternative is brcm80211. Would you know where to get that driver and how to get it working?
Oh, I forgot, be sure to check out this page as well: http://opensuse-guide.org/wlan.php It is specific to 12.2 -- _____________________________________ ---This space for rent--- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
