After working on this for a while. For some reason I can only print certain things. If I type the command: cat /var/log/boot.msg > /dev/lp1 it will try to print the contents of the file. If I type the command: cat ~/ifconfig.txt > /dev/lp1 (ifconfig.txt is just a text file) it will print nothing. But it will instead spool it to lp and thats it. Below is my lpc status after trying this several times. ascii: queuing is enabled printing is enabled no entries printer idle lp: queuing is enabled printing is enabled 5 entries in spool area waiting for lp to become ready (offline ?) raw: queuing is enabled printing is enabled no entries printer idle Using lpr gives me the same results( It just spools and does nothing else). I am able to print using gs. What am I doing wrong?? Steve - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e
