Does the SuSE distribution include any better alternatives for ripping tracks from CDs than kaudiocreator (which comes in the kmultimedia package for KDE)? The kaudiocreator program has several drawbacks:
1. It seems to be hardwired to read from /dev/cdrom; I can't find any way of telling it to read from anywhere else.
2. It has no documentation that I can find.
3. It doesn't allow for ripping just the initial part of a track.

Check out grip for ripping and then use audacity to split tracks any way you want. If desired, use K3B to write CDs. Good luck. Don Henson
