Whenever I open gedit, it opens an empty file: ie if I open it by itself, I get 1 open file (*Unsaved Document 1), but also if I open a specific existing file, when I open it, I also get an additional extra empty file. This is not the most annoying part, because when you go to exit gedit, it will prompt you to save (or otherwise) all your empty/open files... Have searched for this, and the only sort-of fix I have found is to run it with a script... Surely there is something a bit simpler? I would have thought an option in preferences, but apparently not.
Thanks, John.
Hi John, I basically /live/ in gedit and don't recall seeing (or at least noticing) the behavior you're talking about. Are we discussing 11.4? 12.1? Earlier? 32 bit? 64 bit? GNOME? (gedit works great under other DE's) How about versions numbers? e.g. I'm running gedit 2.30.4 on GNOME 2.32.1 on openSUSE 11.4 64 bit Thx Carl -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
