Just thought I would share a bit about a recent 10.3 install on an Acer Aspire 4310. First, it came with Linpus linux (after using openSUSE and SuSE for so long, I could explain why). It may have been linux, but nothing to be compared with openSUSE. So I replaced it with 10.3. It actually found all the hardware (though the bcm43xx would not work with the wireless, had to use ndiswrapper). It was an amazing install, and update. Webcam worked straight away in Skype. I am amazed at how well the hardware was recognized and automatically configured. Even Suspend to Disk worked out of the box. I enabled 3D for the intel graphics during install, so that was a breeze as well. I can't imagine a better hardware/OS match for a laptop.
