Would be awesome if it was possible to have the option to run 1024x768 or higher in console mode..... ----- Original Message ----- From: "Rick Green" <rtg@mich.com> To: "Chris Large" <clarge@macn.bc.ca> Cc: <suse-linux-e@suse.com> Sent: Friday, April 13, 2001 7:35 AM Subject: Re: [SLE] console size

I just got a 19" moniter. Is there a way to make the console font smaller so there are more lines on the screen?
The font is way so big now. In your /etc/lilo.conf, add the line 'vga=ask' near the top. Re-run lilo. The next time you boot, lilo will give you a menu of console formats that your card can support. Pick one. When you're done playing and you've found one you like, replace 'ask' with the hex code for the mode you like. The menu will go away, and it'll set your favorite mode as it boots.
