I use apt-get on my SuSE 10.0 to keep my system uptodate. I have added the following sources to my /etc/apt/sources.list rpm http://ftp4.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/apt SuSE/10.0-i386 wine rpmkeys

Yesterday, I ran dist-upgrade, result of which was some broken packages. I checked out the terminal output of the dist-upgrade command. I noticed that some packages gave the following error: error: unpacking of archive failed: cpio: Bad magic I wonder if the mirror has turned wacky. Also, I ran apt-get update later to update my Packages list..only to get the following errors. W: Release file did not contain checksum information for
http://ftp4.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/apt/SuSE/10.0-i386/base/pkglist.kde W: Release file did not contain checksum information for http://ftp4.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/apt/SuSE/10.0-i386/base/release.kde W: Release file did not contain checksum information for http://ftp4.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/apt/SuSE/10.0-i386/base/srclist.kde W: You may want to run apt-get update to correct these problems E: Some index files failed to download, they have been ignored, or old ones used instead.
Also, I noticed my amaroK was updated to version 1.4 (from 1.3) and then it stopped working as a result of missing dependencies. Now, whenever I run dist-upgrade ..i get the following error: COPPERSKULL:~ # apt-get dist-upgrade
Reading Package Lists... Done Building Dependency Tree... Done You might want to run `apt-get --fix-broken install' to correct these. The following packages have unmet dependencies: amarok: Depends: libpq.so.4 E: Unmet dependencies. Try using --fix-broken.
Also, running apt-get --fix-broken install doesn't help much. Anybody suggesting a new source to be added to sources.list? -- http://mckagan.googlepages.com
