* Marcia (raknakce@cox-internet.com) [021203 13:57]: ->Dear All, -> ->I have been using Linux-Mandrake since 7, but had some instability problems ->with 9 so decided to try Suse8. Except for the problems I am presenting I ->like Suse 8 very much so far. -> ->My printer, a HP 940c worked fine at first then stopped printing and I have ->not been able to get it going since. I was able to delete my cups then ->reinstall the printer through the control center. It did a test page just ->fine but when I tried to print from any application it would not print. When ->I tried to use ./spadmin in Open Office to set up my printer I got this error ->message: -> ->Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server ->Xlib: No protocol specified It appears that you are logged into your machine using your user account and trying to excute X programs as root from an xterm. If you use sux instead of just su in order to become root then you will be able to execute X programs while logged in as a normal user. Give this a try and if you have more issues then keep the email coming. :) -- Ben Rosenberg ---===---===---===--- mailto:ben@whack.org Tell me what you believe.. I tell you what you should see.
