the system boots up and after my disks are initialized the system stops (i suspect some missing file for booting the the init files) I checked out all the possible help files but can't find a solution PLEASE HELP ME OUT HERE!!!!!
I guess that you've compiled in something that isn't on your system, or incompatible. I am assuming you saved your old kernel image and the settings for that kernel. Look to see what key differences between the new kernel and old kernel with: make menuconfig If you started out with one of the SuSE preinstall kernels, I believe that they include a lot of things like chipset bug fixes. I would profile your entire machine from mboard chipsets to mouse type and make sure I have everything associated with those devices are compiled in the kernel.
