Tried the apt4rpm list at sourceforge. No response. I am using the latest available synaptic rpm. I am writing this is in Win2k, so I can't check the version number right now. What I mean by a fading window is a window that barely appears and then fades away, without synaptic actually coming to view. Sort of like an app crash or kill during the startup process. OK, after ISP problems and connection problems to the repository, apt seems to be on track. There is still a problem with synaptic. The command sux -c synaptic returns a "segmentation fault" error, with a fading window, while the command "synaptic", logged in as sux just prompts a fading window. Any ideas?

Not really. What do you mean by a fading window? Is it the latest version of synaptic? You could also try on the apt-list. Sorry i don't know the address but it's on the apt4rpm site.
