Many thanks! I seem to have a working postgres 6.3.2 system running on SuSE 5.1. Although, I was unable to find the command autoconf on my system. All I found after running a find for autoconf was a autoconf.changes in /usr/doc/packages/autoconf/autoconf.changes. Thinking that I was screwed, I proceeded with the rest of your steps and success! psql compiled without the tputs problem. I'm very appreciative of your help with this problem Thanks Again, Kerry On 16 Jun 1998, Karl Eichwalder wrote
Don't panic -- you forgot to run `autoconf' after patching; `-lncurses' has to appear while you try to link. Perhaps, I wasn't clear enough; here we go again:
cd .../postgresql-6.3.2/src autoconf ./configure --with-includes=/usr/include/termcap --with-libs=/usr/lib/termcap
But I guess, if linking against ncurses, termcap isn't actually needed.
