Hi,
1) Samba : My Windows boxes show the shares, but when trying to
access them
I get a error showing 'incorrect username and/or password'.
This may help you, as root:
# smbpasswd -a phil (set your password) # smbpasswd -U phil (set the same passwd)
Thanks, works fine. I can't remember having to do this in previous upgrades to SuSE and/or Samba.
Cheers
Phil
It's because M$ decided that passwords transmitted in cleartext over a network was a bad idea. They were right, for a change. This basically means that you have to encrypt your SMB password so that you can log in properly. Glad to hear that you are up and running :) -Steven
