I have a Hawking 56K V.90 Fax Modem PC Card, P/N BFM5600-CF. It was
cheap, about $50US, a year ago. I used it for a month on the road
last summer and it behaved fine. I don't remember any problems
getting it working under Linux.

Hi,
I have been enjoying my SuSE 6.4 install on my laptop. Its working like a charm... except for the fact that I have a WinModem. I have been unable to dial-up to my ISP and have to resort to sharing a connection through a winblowz machine. I have become frustrated with this approach and I am now planning on purchasing a new PCMCIA modem. I know that as long as it isn't a winmodem I should be fine, but any ways I wonder: Which one should I get? and Why? What kind of problems (if any) should I expect to run into while trying to get the new card to work with my install? Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated Thanks J
