Well shoot. I went and re-compiled the ext2fs utilities from my SuSE distribution, while all along they had the libraries sitting in SuSE-6.3 land instead of SuSE-6.4 on Helix' ftp site. I don't know why they haven't corrected the problem or posted any notices yet. gmc is a pretty integral part of gnome. You'd think somebody at Helixcode would have noticed by now.

I guess you didn't install
e2fslibs-1.17-helix_3
from the Helixcode site.

No idea why they ship ext2 utils but not the developmental libraries.
