I have a Seagate Travan 4/8GB SCSI tape drive which boots up as st0. I have been trying to use KDat to backup the system. When I bring up the KDat window and click on mount drive, it says there is no tape in the drive. There is a tape inserted in the drive. When a tape needs format, after formatting it will indicate that there is a tape installed. I can not get it to recognize that a formated tape is inserted in the drive. The KDat help isn't much help on this one. Other than the preference button on the KDat window, I can find no configuration file for KDat Have preferences set to: tape size = 4GB tape block size = 512 bytes tape device = dev/st0 tar command = /bin/tar Would like to get this working. Any help or suggestions would be appricated.
