Hello:
This problem occurs in openSUSE 13.2 i586 (fresh install from DVD) on a new computer (new hardware). My Epson Perfection V37 USB scanner does not work. After switching the scanner on, at the first time it is recognized immediately:
scanimage -L device `epkowa:interpreter:003:006' is a Epson Perfection V37 flatbed scanner
But the following times the command hangs for long time:
scanimage -L ... long-long-time one-two minutes device `epkowa:interpreter:003:006' is a Epson (unknown model) flatbed scanner
Do you have a Haswell CPU? What motherboard do you use? Might be related to: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=856794 Regards, -- Aaron "Optimizer" Digulla a.k.a.
