Hi,
on my way to customizing the newly installed openSuSE 11 I'm finding things like this one:
--- taken form 'top' ---
PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND 7678 martin 20 0 94364 36m 9252 R 98 1.8 962:06.42 npviewer.bin

$ ps -ef | grep npviewer.bin martin 7678 7554 99 Jun24 ? 16:02:34 /usr/lib/nspluginwrapper/i386/linux/npviewer.bin --plugin /usr/lib/browser-plugins/libflashplayer.so --connection /org/wrapper/NSPlugins/libflashplayer.so/7554-1
npviewer.bin is apparently provided by nspluginwrapper-0.9.91.5.99.20071225-22.1 and according to the README: --- nspluginwrapper consists in a proxy plugin and a viewer for NPAPI compatible plugins. It makes it possible to use 32-bit x86 plugins like Adobe Flash Player on other platforms like Linux/x86_64, *BSD and even Linux/ppc. ---
which seems to be like unavoidable.
The reason for me to raise an eyebrow is simple: it never happened with the previous openSuSE 10.2.
Any suggestions? or just wait for the next upgrade of nspluginwrapper? whenever it happens...
There's an upgrade of nspluginwrapper right now in the 11.0-test repository (http://download.opensuse.org/update/11.0-test/), it will go to the 11.0 repository soon. I don't know whether it fixes your problems, the description contains: - Focus problems in Adobe Reader 8 in openSUSE 11.0: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=353503 - Latest Flash Player wrapping in openSUSE 10.3: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=350752 - Broken plugin wrapping from root's home: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=384367 - False error messages in openSUSE 11.0: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=400194 - Plugin cache rebuild in openSUSE 10.3: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=304963 (it is only a partial fix, uninstall dragonegg as a work-around) If that one does not help, please open a bugreport explaining how to reproduce it, Andreas -- Andreas Jaeger, Director Platform / openSUSE, aj@suse.de SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, GF: Markus Rex, HRB 16746 (AG Nürnberg) Maxfeldstr. 5, 90409 Nürnberg, Germany GPG fingerprint = 93A3 365E CE47 B889 DF7F FED1 389A 563C C272 A126
