I have a friend who's computer is now loaded with SuSE 10.2.
The system was originally a Vista machine. It didn't seem to want to work and play well with Linux, and my friend didn't care about Windows, so I dedicated the whole machine to the install.
Since then, on intial boot, the first thing that happens after the "Compaq" display with boot options is that the screen clears and the text:
"Err2Err3"
Shows up in the upper left corner and the machine hangs until "Enter" is pressed and then the machine boots fine.
I've checked the boot loader and everything looks good there. The partitioner does NOT have a Windows partition.
Any ideas what's going on here? I googled the problem and it returned a handful of hits, all in languages I don't read.
TIA,
Looks like the grub is broken somehow. You may try to re-install stage 0 to see if it helps. Boot with the install cd/dvd in rescue mode and follow these instructions: <http://www.sorgonet.com/linux/grubrestore/> -- Svetoslav Milenov (Sunny) Even the most advanced equipment in the hands of the ignorant is just a pile of scrap. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
