What are packages openSUSE-repos-MicroOS and openSUSE-repos-MicroOS-NVIDIA?

Devs, Recently there have been posts about removing openSUSE-repos-XXX to improve mirror performance and allow listing additional mirrors in the baseurl= option. What are these packages and why or why not to remove them? Why can't I just add the nvidia repo as a normal repo as we have always done? What is the benefit of these -repo packages? -- David C.
