I had a user press the 'X' in the pop-out menu on the Desktop Folder (the menu you get when widgets are not locked). The activity is set to "Desktop". So, of course, the folder disappeared from the screen. It seems difficult to get it back. We tried selecting Desktop as the activity again. But that made no difference. I seem to recall discussions of this, but I do not recall what the solution was. I can choose Folder as the activity, and then have Desktop be the folder to view. Then the icons show up in the desktop. So they still exist... I tried to see if there was something on Bugzilla. But I did not find anything interesting.
