I have 8.2 installed on a laptop. Where can I find the kernel sources for APM support? I installed apmd, which reported "no support in kernel. I couldn't find the listing from make xconfig.
The kernel has indeed support compiled in for apm, and the sources are included, as always. By the way, "make xconfig" may be broken or not up to date, use "make menuconfig" instead.
Where can I find this, and when I find it, where should I put it so that it will compile into the kernel?
You only need to dissable acpi, and apm will then be enabled (acpi takes precedence). This is done on the boot line. It is documented by SuSE on the SDB. -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson
