Note that some errors may only occur with newer xorg or drivers, because they use some feature of the chip that wasn't used before. Particularly acceleration functions can be changed to use more of the 3D blocks of the chip. On the other hand, if you don't see the problem with an older Xorg, we just don't know whether this is the case or whether you found a bug in the server.
