Hi to all, yesterday i had an idea about making a sort of pool for the entire mailing list in which vote the "best" or to say it better the most used applications for Linux.. i'll hope that many of you will agree to this "stupid" initiative and that many will reply to this mail.. i think that for the mailing list it's better to answer this pool not replying to the mailing list but replying to my private email directly.. i then will receive all the answers and put them togheter in a pool result that i will post on the mailing list. The terms to vote are stated in 2 weeks from now... Here are the categories for voting: Imaging Tools: Image viewers: Image manipulation: Office: Documents: Spreadsheet: Other: Programming: Sound: Cd Players: Mp3 Players: Other: Text Editors: Commercial Software: Database: Internet/Networking: e-mail client: www browser: icq client: irc client: other: WindowManager: i'd like to have any of you answer as many questions as possible and if possible also to give a brief reason to the answer given.. for example: e-mail client: Kmail (for it's low memory usage) I hope that uoy all understand that this stupid pool is only focused on creating a pool of the most used and interesting applications used by Linux users that in future will be useful to newbie Linux users which many times get disoriented by the too many utilities that comes with any linux ditribuition... Thanks to all! This project is Open Source so any change to the project or suggestion will be very appreciated! :)
