If I redirect the print from the cups server on my 12.2 to a virtualbox mint14 cups server, then duplex printing works, so it does seem something specific to the 12.2 setup.
I'd appreciate any pointers to how I can correct this.
Try printing to postscript file instead, and then you can use okular or gv to print it to paper.
Thanks. I appreciate that as a work-around. I could similarly send it to cups-pdf and print that. However, since duplex printing worked fine in opensuse 11.4, and does in mint and xubuntu, I'd like to get the same functionality back in opensuse 12.2. We do a lot of printing and having always to go through a 2-stage process seriously upsets our users.

fwiw . . . Duplex works fine in 12.2 on my HP1100dtn. While the upgrade installed the latest driver package, it did not assign the driver to the existing printer queue, I needed to do that as an extra step in YaST. I also found that at least for this printer there were two driver options, and only the "cups" version supported full functionality. If you have an HP printer, it is better to install it via HP's toolbox, where duplexing can be turned on. It can also be enabled directly thru the cups localhost interface. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
