Is there a HowTo for setting up a printer in a network? Two computers (1 Windows XL 1 SuSE 10.0) are attached to a router which is attached to a DSL modem. I want to attach the printer to the router rather than to a computer.
It should not be problem with CUPS. Read the documentation from within your browser pointed to http://127.0.0.1:631. The router will assign an IP, but you have to determine the port number from the documents. It depends on the make. Mine are both HPs which have a port of 9100 on the JetDirect card in the printer.
