Hi All, I don't know why S.u.S.E doesn't have any newsgroup for their product while other linux distributor has theirs? Anyway, I suggest there should be newsgroups so we don't have to browse through 5-6 hundred email to find out answers to our problem. I think its not me, but most of you out there feel the same way. So, we all need to send our feedback to S.u.S.E Inc. our need as customers.
...and HOW would a NEWSGROUP be easier to find what you're looking for with all the extra trash/noise that would undoubtedly exist? How is that better than a mailing list?
Because instead of downloading hundreds of email messages every week we could just sift through what we wanted using dejanews. And all the warnings of doom about S/N ratio are way off. The noise is already here. Being a newsgroups could hardly make it worse. Anyway it could be moderated. Alternatively we could have a digest like Red Hat do, for those who prefer a mailnig list.
