I have an AMD processor on a 785GTM-E45 Motherboard. I have a USB to serial port adapter but can't get it or any other USB to work. Has anyone run into this problem?
My experience with devices that mate physical legacy connectors to USB ports is you can't expect them to behave as if they were a legacy port using that type of connector. USB to serial I've not tried. Generic USB to PS/2 converters don't work for Grub or NTLDR menus or getting into the PC BIOS using a PS/2 keyboard connected to the converter. In your case, "any other" may be keywords. Until you get USB to work generally, you shouldn't expect any specific USB device to work. -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive."
