I have been trying to get a fairly simple memory card reader working with SuSE 10.1. The errors I get look like this:

I've not found any issues with all my various USB devices on my systems running 10.1, but just out of curiosity. Is that a USB 1 or 2 device? I remember there being some issue - way back when - with USB 2 devices trying to be read as USB 1 devices.
It is a usb2 full speed device.
There was something you had to change in the boot order so that USB 2 was loaded first and not UsB 1.
Yes, I've tried all the magic runes with loading/unloading various combinations of ohci-hcd, ehci-hcd & uhci-hcd modules to no effect. It is only recognised at all by the uhci-hcd module.
According to My Computer, I'm running an earlier kernel (2.6.16) than you, so I imagine that isn't the problem.
It was the same symptoms for me with the SuSE 2.6.16 kernel as well as SuSE 2.6.18. But Knoppix 5.0.1, with a 2.6.17 kernel, works OK which is pretty frustrating. It is just a simple CompactFlash/SD memory card reader. It may be easier to find a different one that will work with the SuSE kernels. Can anyone recommend a memory card reader that is known to work with SuSE 10.1? Cosmo
