I don't think it matters which dvd drive you buy because they don't need OS specific drivers. They work by plugging them into the hard disk ide cable but I'd recommend getting a dual layer burner if only to make a backup of your SuSE dvd. I can't understand why Plextor would have that attitude. Surely they too want to shift dvd drives and make money in the hardware market don't they? If someone provides a driver free of charge for systems which are not available out of the box then that to my mind is free advertising and encourages sales. Steve.
