[opensuse] Problem with On Screen Display and KDE

Hi I've just upgraded to OS 10.3 and made all KDE updates and upgrades. The kde setting and the /home as whole contains files inherited since OS 10.0. My problem is that when I reboot into KDE the OSD get lost. All Fn Keys of my keyboard are still working though. Now when I log out and log in again, w/o rebooting the computer, then I get the OSD back. But after every rebooting the machine the OSD is gone at first. I'm little bit lost.
